Job Description

The Position

As iFit’s Product Owner for Mobile Applications, the ideal candidate will need to study and understand fitness equipment industry trends, competitors strategies and offerings, and the needs of our users to set the strategic direction of our mobile applications. They’ll create a prioritized set of product requirements to deliver high-value, quality software releases in support of our strategic goals. With senior-level responsibility, they’ll connect the wants and needs of our target market customers and users directly to the product development team in a highly dynamic, collaborative, and responsive way. In this position, the candidate will identify, define, analyze, prioritize, and refine technology platform requirements, and will communicate those requirements to our product development teams. The Product Owner will need to prioritize tradeoffs, clarify requirements, and define priorities throughout the development lifecycle. They’ll also work directly with various internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and department managers, as well as with the development teams, to ensure successful translation of those requirements into high-quality software.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with key stakeholders to define requirements of a complex software product
Define, prioritize, and clarify user stories
Work with other product owners to understand use cases, features, business, and technical domain rules, as well as overall product goals
Work with engineering teams to continuously improve product ownership and other agile processes
Maintain the functional quality of the work being delivered by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria
Communicate priorities based on well-defined and measured business cases
Establish goals and metrics to measure effectiveness after release, then monitor and report on progress
Produce technically-focused user stories, then collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and feasibility
Build and groom product backlogs
Create short-, medium-, and long-term product roadmaps
Own and maintain product documentation
Study competitive offerings in the market and anticipate customer needs
Identify and manage key systems metrics used to advise technical direction

What we’re looking for

Strong knowledge of agile development practices, methodologies, and tools. Direct, hands-on experience with writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and coordinating and prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

4+ years Scrum experience, with at least two as Product Owner (CSPO strongly desired)
Outstanding technical and non-technical communication skills
Ability to understand abstract, complex systems from technical descriptions
Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues
Ability to influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority
A strong, high-level knowledge of common web and mobile platform architectures
Experience authoring technical user stories and use cases
